Giggles

When we went to visit the Hartmann family just before Christmas, Bailey's cousin Lizzy was a giggle factory.  She was so cute when she giggled we couldn't wait to hear our Bailey giggle.... well apparently we had to wait awhile... we recieved a few small somewhat giggles before, but no belly laugh.   Then one night on the floor with Grandma Clark- we got our first belly laugh.  of course by the time we got the camera she stopped.

A child's giggle is the most wonderful thing in the world-  it brightens your day, and makes you smile from ear to ear and laugh along with them.

We were able to catch a giggle fest on camera, we were trying to get her sitting up but, it resulted in something so much better :)

Bailey's 3 Month Photos

For some reason it is customary to have professional photos taken of baby at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months.  Anyone who has a baby knows that it is almost impossible to be that organized and get things done on time.  So here are Bailey's 3 Month photos (she is actually about 16 weeks old...oops).  We're cheap, so we let Nate take our "professional" photos.

Owie!

Bailey received her first owie (aside from her bruised face when she was born) 

While reading one night she reached up as Mom was turning the page and got a paper cut.  She shreaked so loud and her little finger began to bleed.   Babies first boo-boo.   She got a pretty purple band-aid and immediately tried to eat it.  

We also had our first cold.  Having a sick baby who is so unhappy and stuffy made me so sad, and the only thing we could do is put saline in her nose... well that makes Bailey happy, so we had a struggle filled about 2 weeks as we waited for the cold to pass.  We learned Bailey HATES the nose bulb sucker- but i get a slight joy out of being able to get the boogers out of there- it's an interesting game we play :) 

I can't wait to see what other owies and ickies we will experience as parents.

Merry Christmas 2011!!!

Bailey's first Christmas!!!  It was the first time we got to be Santa-  granted we didn't get do much Santa-ing, but it was still fun to pretend.  

We got to have 2 Christmas celebrations this year since we got to celebrate with the Hartmann side a week earlier (see SURPRISE! post) and then with the Clark side for the 25th celebrations.  Glenys worked so hard all week to make our Christmas Eve extravaganza wonderful.   We had a Mexican feast with Tamale's, Sopa Azteca, Spanish Rice, Choco-flan and many other wonderful goodies.   Our company included the Steere Family, the Steele Family and Bruce and Glenys.  

That night we opened our "Magic Jammies"  a tradition from the Hartmann family.  You must wear your magic jammies on Christmas Eve or Santa won't come.   Our video won't upload- but i promise it was super cute

On Christmas Morning- Bailey woke up around 8:30 she was so excited for Christmas

We went upstairs and opened gifts with Grandma and Grandpa Clark.  Bailey hung out with Grandpa to open presents-

Tried on a New Outfit

Christmas Morning was too much for her and she crashed with Douglas (her kitty) before we ever made it to church.  (She received a BEAUTIFUL dress from Grandma Hartmann to wear to church)

 

That night we had some of the Christesen Clan over for dinner as well Uncle Spencer and Aunt Amy, Netty & James, Mel & Taryn.   

Bailey and James ended up having Matching Jammies and were so cute- Photo Op!!!

They even had twin bum changing moments- how adorable

It was a bit strange this year and didn't ever really feel like Christmas - probably because it was still around 50 degrees here in Salt Lake the entire month of December.  But we are grateful for this time of year to remember the birth of Christ and to reflect on the many blessings we have received- the greatest being a beautiful little girl whom we love SO much.  We hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas as well and enjoyed time with family and friends.
